Surface treatment on an XXL scale

The Challenge

Surface treatment is used in various branches of industry. Surface treatment describes common processes to protect surfaces from corrosion or wear or to change their optical and electrical function. To protect the surface of steel against oxidation, it is pickled. This takes place in so-called pickling plants with numerous process steps. The plant's pipe system must be designed for high temperature levels and aggressive acids.

The special feature of the project: in addition to the pickling plant, the acid regeneration plant and acid cleaning plant were also realized with our products in the new construction project. Thanks to high recovery rates and the reuse of various media, regeneration plants make a significant contribution to environmental protection and sustainability.

The Solution

Aliaxis offers a wide range of different actuators and positioners in its broad valve portfolio, which can be tailored to the customer's requirements.

The FIP valves from Aliaxis were installed in the pickling plant, acid regeneration plant and acid cleaning plant to regulate the flow rates and guarantee safe transportation of the pickling solution.

The Realisation

The various customer requirements, such as individual labeling of the fittings with tag numbers, were implemented in close cooperation.
