Especially for industrial applications under extreme conditions
PVDF (vinylidene polyfluoride) is a semi-crystalline fluorinated technopolymer with a fluorine content of 59% by weight. This material is obtained by polymerisation of vinylidene fluoride and has exceptional mechanical, physical and chemical resistance properties, guaranteeing excellent thermal stability up to temperatures of 140°C.
FIP PVDF fittings have always used Solef PVDF resins (manufactured by SOLVAY), which have been specially developed for industrial applications and meet the requirements of ISO 10931.
Thanks to its high purity and exceptional performance, PVDF is the best alternative to metallic materials and is widely used in the industrial sector. PVDF systems are suitable for all applications under extreme operating conditions, such as the conversion and dosing of aggressive chemicals or the regeneration and transport of concentrated acids used in industrial chemical, extractive or metallurgical synthesis processes. Some of the leading international steel producers have chosen our PVDF solutions to carry out pre-treatments to remove organic deposits and rust prior to surface finishing.
PVDF not only offers high resistance, but is also lightweight, easy to install and durable, as it is not only not susceptible to corrosion, but also has a long service life.
Characteristics of PVDF:
- Excellent thermal stability
- Fire resistance
- Purity
- High abrasion resistance
In addition to PVDF pipes and fittings, Aliaxis also offers PVDF valves with the option of automation. All solutions in our portfolio offer an excellent price-performance ratio and do not require particularly complex installation and jointing techniques.
