Connections with flanges: Flanges and gaskets from Aliaxis
When using flange connections, care must be taken to ensure that the nominal diameter assignment of the pipe does not lead to problems with connections. This applies in particular if material changes or the intermediate clamping of fittings are planned. An offset on the inside surface of the pipe is generally undesirable.
The use of butterfly valves requires the internal diameter of fusing neck collars made of PE-HD and PP to be adjusted. Whether PVC, ABS and PVDF flanged bushes are affected by this must be checked. At Aliaxis Germany, pre-fused collars made of PE and PP are therefore turned out in a funnel shape in our manufactory. Reductions from the internal creep pressure do not have to be taken into account, but the flange connection should not be subjected to excessively high tensile and compressive loads.
