Since 2020, our products have been successfully tested for use with hydrogen. A pioneer in this field is the DBI - Gas Technology Institute, which hosts annual forums on hydrogen technologies. This year, the forum took place on March 25th and 26th in Speyer, and our hydrogen expert, Dr. Stefan Griesheimer, participated.
A highlight of the event was the visit to the BHYO test facility in the Speyer area. This facility focuses on the production of H₂ from biogenic residual and waste materials in a special test reactor. The project is managed and promoted by BHYO GmbH in collaboration with partners such as TH Bingen. The test facility is planned to be built 25 times larger in the future and will be usable for larger chemical plants in the region.
In this patented facility, hydrogen is produced from waste materials such as sewage sludge, wood chips, and bio-waste. These raw materials are already available to us today and could be a decisive milestone in the energy transition. Our gas networks, built with the FRIALEN and FRIAGRIP product lines, are already ready for hydrogen use.
