Are you facing challenging tasks in drainage planning for critical media or in rooms requiring protection? Then our AkathermPlus double pipe system is the right solution for you!

The ZBFS in Nuremberg has opted for our double pipe system from Aliaxis for the drainage of wastewater in the building through archive rooms that require protection. The first construction project was successfully completed in 2020. Now the archive rooms are being extended and the AkathermPlus system from Aliaxis is being used again! During the extension of the archive rooms, new drainage pipes with inspection openings will be laid freely. The AkathermPlus PE double pipe system was tailored precisely to the application and prefabricated on site in our factory.

Any leaks can be easily detected by monitoring the annular space between the inner and casing pipe (outer pipe). The AkathermPlus pipe-in-pipe system can be monitored in three different ways. For this application, electronic monitoring using compact leakage probes was chosen. These are mounted at the end transition and monitored remotely via a signaling device. The system has DiBt approval.

The AkathermPlus double pipe system can be protected with fire protection sleeves up to a protective pipe dimension of d160 mm and a wall thickness of 7 mm. In this project, fire protection collars were used for the penetration of ceilings and walls (Fig. 2).

The AkathermPlus PE-HD double pipe system (drain) was used in the following pipe dimensions:

  • Outer pipe da160x6.2 Inner pipe di 110x4.2mm.
  • Impressions of the completed exposed drainage system are shown in the attached photos.
  • The drainage system from Aliaxis thus makes a major contribution to the safe drainage of wastewater through the archive rooms in Nuremberg.
