Groundbreaking ceremony for a new production hall
Mannheim/October 2023 – Aliaxis Germany will begin construction of a new production hall in Mannheim on October 23, 2023. This investment is another milestone in an ambitious program for the location: the international provider of innovative solutions for water and energy will invest a total of 50 million euros in the Mannheim production facility by 2025. The funds will flow into the construction of state-of-the-art office buildings and production facilities. In doing so, the company underlines its technological leadership and trust in the Mannheim location.
A new industrial hall is being built on an area of around 3,500 square meters with a modern, large-scale photovoltaic system to generate electricity and a retention roof to retain rainwater. The production facilities are self-developed, highly automated and state-of-the-art.
The Mannheim plant has played a central role in the Rhine-Neckar region for 160 years. The company benefits from optimal local infrastructure and transport connections. Other central warehouses in Europe and customers worldwide are supplied with products from Mannheim. With the new investment, Aliaxis wants to further strengthen the competitiveness of the location and reinforce its connection to the city.
Marc Besserer, Managing Director of Aliaxis Germany, emphasizes: “We are expanding the Mannheim location according to the most modern standards. In doing so, we not only send a clear signal for innovation and sustainability. We also create and secure attractive jobs with excellent career opportunities, locally and internationally.”
As general contractor, BREMER AG ensures that Aliaxis Deutschland can fully concentrate on its core business even during the construction phase. Oliver Grabowsky, Managing Director of BREMER Karlsruhe GmbH: “Thanks to our proven construction method with BREMER prefabricated reinforced concrete parts, we can build the shell very quickly and then begin installing the technical building equipment. We will hand over the production hall as early as July 2024.”
“Innovation is the focus at the Aliaxis location in Mannheim. Aliaxis Germany has created a sustainable perspective for the further development of the technology location. The requirements for water and gas supply are constantly changing. With its continuous investments in research and development, Aliaxis is an excellent example of how Mannheim companies can assert themselves in the market with new innovations,” explains Mayor Christian Specht.”
