The Challenge

The development of a new industrial estate in Dormagen posed a particular challenge, as some of the old water supply pipes made of asbestos cement had to be replaced. The existing infrastructure led to considerable traffic disruption during the construction of a branch from the old pipeline into the industrial estate. It was also predicted that future heavy goods traffic could cause problems in the area of the existing asbestos cement pipeline. It was also necessary to remove a defective water flap.

The Solution

The solution was to lay a 200 meter long PE HD SDR 17 d315 potable water pipe. The pipe was laid with several UB d315 sleeves and a 45° angle. At the end, the new pipe was connected to the existing water network using a T-piece and FRIAGRIP flange adapters.

The Realisation

Close cooperation with the customer and the quick and easy installation of our 45° elbows and UB SDR 17 d315 sockets formed the basis for the successful implementation of the project. The new potable water pipe was installed in advance. All PE fusion were documented using our digital solution WorkFlow. In addition, the quick and easy installation of our FRIAGRIP DN400 flange adapters enabled the project to be completed quickly. The connection to the existing water network was carried out during a night shift so that there was no disruption to the water supply.

The Conclusion

The project was a complete success. Thanks to the good networking with the customer and the efficient processing of our products, considerable time savings were achieved. The new potable water pipeline enables an efficient supply to the new industrial estate and thus contributes to its successful development.
